The Finance Assistant plays a key role in supporting the finance function by ensuring the effective delivery of treasury and accounts payable activities. This role contributes to strong financial control, accurate reporting, and timely processing of financial transactions across the organisation.

Treasury Responsibilities
Perform daily bank reconciliations for all bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Monitor cash balances and support cash flow forecasting.
Maintain accurate records of all cash movements, including allocations, transfers, and bank charges.
Assist in preparing treasury reports and supporting treasury compliance requirements.
Accounts Payable Responsibilities
Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently in the finance system.
Ensure proper coding, approvals, and adherence to financial controls.
Perform supplier reconciliations and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies.
Support the preparation of supplier payment runs and monitor due dates to ensure timely settlement.
Maintain AP ageing schedules and assist with clearing outstanding items.
Payment Processing
Prepare, validate, and process domestic and international payments in line with authorisation rules.
Maintain payment logs and ensure supporting documentation is complete.
Provide timely updates to internal stakeholders on payment status.
Month-End Support
Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations and preparation of schedules.
Ensure all AP and treasury transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
Support audit requirements by preparing documentation and responding to queries.
Process & System Improvement
Identify opportunities for automation and process enhancement across AP and treasury workflows.
Contribute to updates of process documentation, SOPs, and internal controls.
Provide suggestions for improving reporting quality and operational efficiency.
General Duties
Support the wider finance team with administrative tasks as required.
Assist with ad-hoc projects, data analysis, and finance initiatives.
Collaborate with internal teams and provide excellent service to suppliers and stakeholders
Finance Assistant, the person
AAT Level 2-3 Qualified or Qualified by experience preferred
Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP systems is desirable, as well as Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
Experience in accounts payable, treasury, or a similar finance role.
Strong numeracy skills, accuracy, and a high level of attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Clear communication skills for working with suppliers and internal teams.
Understanding of basic accounting principles.
